Lipan Apache Tribe of Brackettville Texas

Along the edges of Las Moras Creek and the Nueces River, near present-day Brackettville, Texas and surrounding areas within Kinney County, our ancestors made their home. Our tribal community has maintained a presence in this area dating back to the middle of the 19th century. We are still here!
Our tribal community is at the heart of everything we do. We are all descendants of Lipan Apache originating from the Brackettville area.
Our mission is to preserve and protect the Lipan Apache cultural, spiritual, linguistic and traditional knowledge for our people and support the economic and social development of the areas that make up our ancestral lands surrounding present-day Brackettville, Texas.
